If you have ever wondered what Eddie Redmayne would look like as a woman, then wonder no more.
The first still of the Oscar winning actor dressed as a woman with a curled bob, red lips and breasts for his role in The Danish Girl has been released.
Redmayne, 33, stars as Danish painter Lili Elbe (previously Einar Wegner) – one of the world’s first known successful recipients of sex reassignment surgery – in Tom Hooper’s adaptation the David Ebershoff novel.
The film will track the journey of Wegener’s transition from posing in women’s clothes for his wife Gerda to undergoing surgery to become a woman.

Director Hooper said he was moved by the “extraordinary love story”.
“I was so moved by this true story. I have wanted to make the film ever since,” he told The Hollywood Reporter. “The Danish Girl is an extraordinary love story and a story about finding your true self.”
Ben Whishaw, Matthias Schoenaerts and Amber Heard also star in the film, which is set for release next year.
Earlier this week Redmayne announced that he will be voicing Ryan the engine in the upcoming Thomas the Tank Engine animation, Sodor’s Legend of the Lost Treasure.
