Dave Grohl gave one fan the best birthday ever when he invited him on stage to play drums for the Foo Fighters in Toronto.

Grohl spotted Anthony Bifolchi in the audience holding a sign which read, 'It’s my birthday, can I play drums?' and called him up.

Taylor Hawkins – who plays drums for the band – left his seat and welcomed Bifolchi onto the stage.

Sitting on his massive throne of guitars, Grohl – whose leg is still in a cast after he broke it on stage during a gig in Sweden last month – said: “I sure hope this motherf***** doesn’t suck.”

He then asked Bifolchi which song he would like to play. On replying Best Of You, Grohl shouted: “You ain't playing that f****** song that’s the last one we’re going to play.”

He then asked him if he knew Big Me, saying: “It’s the easiest one, if you f*** this one up you’re going to look like a total f****** a******.”

After finishing to massive cheers from the audience and grabbing a few selfies with the band Grohl congratulated Bifolchi on his performance saying: “That was actually pretty good.”

Making Foo Fighters fans jealous worldwide, Bifolchi later uploaded the video with the caption: “Dave Grohl saw my sign and called me up on stage to play a song. Sorry for the f*** up at the end but It was f****** amazing. Best experience ever.”

The band have also announced the dates for their rescheduled UK shows. They will play Milton Keynes National Bowl on September 5 and 6 before heading to Edinburgh Murrayfield Stadium on September 8.
