Peek-a-boo eroticism combined with high fashion and Parisian avant-garde: Crazy Horse is in London for the first time and opened last night.

The show begins with the act God Save Our Bareskins, featuring Royal Horse Guards with a twist, so it has clearly come home to its rightful place, having been seducing Parisian audiences for more than 60 years.

The show is being staged on the South Bank in a purpose-built venue and stars 10 classically trained dancers. It is described as a "celebration of femininity, sensuality and creativity" and was devised by Alain Bernadin in 1951. Advance publicity declares it is a celebration of "la femme in innovative, artistically captivating and stimulating ways - pleasing women and men alike". But what about the feminists?
