It was a family affair for Gemma Arterton as she attended the opening night performance of La Fille Mal Gardée at The Royal Opera House accompanied by her younger sister Hannah Arterton.

The pair both opted for plunging attires for the occasion, with Gemma in a black jumpsuit and Hannah in a tight fitting pastel coloured dress.

Walking On Sunshine actress Hannah documented the night via her social media accounts and posted a family photo of herself alongside Gemma and their mother Sally-Anne Heap.

She captioned the photo: "Artertons at the #audiballet @AudiUK @GemmaArterton."

Star of Made in Dagenham, Gemma, 29, worked the room as she posed for photos with Matt Dawson, Ben Fogle and Dominic Cooper.

Cooper, 36, was overcome with a case of the giggles when he later found himself surrounded by a bevy of ballet dancers.

Audi hosts the opening night performance of "La Fille Mal Gardee" at The Royal Opera House

Hosted by Audi, the opening night attracted a VIP guest list including Colin Firth who posed alongside Jeremy Piven in what looked like matching spectacles, as well as Louise Redknapp and her husband Jamie, and Liv Tyler and her partner Dave Gardner who both enjoyed a date night.

James May appeared to put his Top Gear woes behind him as he mingled with guests and sipped on Champagne at the after party.

Also in attendance were news readers Fiona Bruce and Kate Silverton, actresses Romola Garai and Anna Friel as well as Luke Evans who cut a casual figure in a black shirt with dark aviators.

La Fille Mal Gardée runs until May 5 (020 7304 4000, roh.org.uk)
