Gorka Marquez has explained how he and girlfriend Gemma Atkinson plan to raise their child to be bilingual.

Atkinson and Marquez, who met on Strictly Come Dancing in 2017, unveiled the news that they are expecting their first child together earlier this year.

Spanish dancing professional Marquez has explained that the couple will teach their child his mother tongue as well as English.

He told the Sun: “Of course our baby will learn to speak Spanish.

“Gemma loves where I’m from too. She has been to visit, we love how hot it is.”

Marquez added that he “loves being an uncle” and so is eagerly anticipating the arrival of his child.

Marquez explained the couple had failed miserably after attempting to encourage the pups to sleep outside ahead of the baby’s arrival.

In an Instagram video shared on radio presenter Atkinson’s account, Marquez said: “So we are trying to teach the dogs to sleep outside of the room for when the baby arrives and I don’t think it’s going very well..”

He then showed followers his other half lounging on the carpet whilst stroking the dogs, admitting she was “sad” because Norman and Ollie aren’t “ready” for the change.

Sharing a shot of herself stepping out of the pool with her bump on full display, Atkinson opened up on the realisation that the next time the pair go on holiday they will be “a three”.

The couple revealed the exciting pregnancy news earlier this year with help from their furry friends, who brandished signs about becoming “big brothers” in a sweet Instagram post.
