Gwyneth Paltrow chose to celebrate her 48th birthday by posing naked in her garden - but it seems her eldest child was less than impressed with the photoshoot.

The actress shared a photo on Instagram showing her standing under a tree wearing “nothing but [her] birthday suit” to mark her special day.

“Thank you all so much for the birthday wishes,” she continued, before giving a shout out to her lifestyle brand, adding: “Thank you to @goop’s insanely amazing brand new body butter for making me think I can still get my kit off.”

While Paltrow’s celebrity friends flooded her with comments sharing birthday wishes and complimenting the snap, one Instagram user did not seem to appreciate the photo - her 16 year old daughter Apple Martin.

Apple, whose father is Coldplay singer Chris Martin, commented “MOM” below the post as a measure of her embarrassment, though her mum seemed to take it well, responding with a string of crying laughing emojis.

Paltrow and Martin are also parents to 14-year-old son Moses.

Former Friends star Courteney Cox was among the stars wishing Paltrow a happy birthday, writing: “What a beautiful girl you are and inspiring in so many ways.”

Singer Katy Perry joked: “HBD GP! Love this low profile way to celebrate.”

Paltrow’s Glee co-star Matthew Morrison added: “So happy you were born! What an inspired life you’ve made for yourself. And the GP train keeps going! Love ya, chica!”

Her close friend socialite Derek Blasberg joked that Paltrow’s mother Blythe Danner might not be too happy with the snap either, writing: “What’s Blythe gonna say?”

The actress recently enlisted her mother and daughter for a new campaign for Goop skincare.
