The first pictures of Benedict Cumberbatch in rehearsal for Lyndsey Turner’s new production of Hamlet have been released.
Starring alongside Sian Brooke as Ophelia and Ciarán Hinds as Claudius, the new images give an insight into the intensive rehearsal period in the few weeks remaining before previews begin.
The new production of the iconic Shakespeare play- which sees the Olivier Award-winning director take the helm - has been dubbed the most in-demand theatre production of all time.
Opening to the public at the Barbican on August 25, the short 12-week run saw tickets sell out in record rime when they went on sale nearly a year ago.

According to ticket website Viagogo, there were 20,000 people in the online queue for tickets a matter of minutes after they went on sale last August.
Luckily, for the many fans who weren't able to snap up a ticket last year, Sonia Friedman Productions, in partnership with Sky Arts, has allocated 100 tickets at £10 for every public performance of the production.
These cheaper tickets will make up a total of 8,500 during the run, with seats scattered across the auditorium.
In addition to the regular performances, four education matinees have been scheduled exclusively for school and university groups.
Hamlet will run from 5 August 2015 – 31 October 2015 at the Barbican Theatre.
