Bake Off champion Candice Brown has clapped back at reports of a romance between her and Paul Hollywood.

Pictures were published of the pair sharing a friendly kiss goodbye after attending an after party at Grosvenor House for the Pride of Britain awards.

The Sun claimed the pair looked so close on the night that other celebrities thought she was his wife.

Brown mocked the alleged ‘intimacy’ on Twitter, claiming she will stop dishing out goodbye hugs or kisses.

She tweeted: “(1/2) So invisibility cloaks are real. I was so sure you were there all night too!! @StaceySolomon @ShelaghFogarty @Poppy_Talent

“(2/2) No kisses or hugs hello or goodbye from now on- handshakes or waves only!”

Stacey Solomon, who was among those with Brown and Hollywood on the night, confirmed that there were no “intimate kisses.”

She tweeted: “Well I was there the entire time no intimate kisses from where I was standing just a goodbye peck! I got one too...(sic).”

Brown replied: “Whatttt you got a goodbye peck too? Remember handshakes and waves from now! Lovely to see you beautiful lady x.”

Hollywood also thanked Solomon for her tweet and deemed Shelagh Fogarty's suggestion that they simply 'salute each other' from now on as “incredible”.

She revealed that McAulay had ended up proposing in a car park, after taking her to the Bedfordshire restaurant where they'd shared their first date.

She told Hello!: “I get emotional because it’s been such an amazing year. I feel very lucky. I’ve had such incredible opportunities – Bake Off opened so many doors – and to top it off he puts a ring on it.”

Brown, who rose to fame after winning The Great British Bake Off in 2015, is currently in training for the upcoming series of Dancing on Ice.
