Hillary Clinton has said she was “stunned and thrilled” to receive Adele’s support in the race for the White House.

Adele, 28, urged fans to reject Republican candidate Donald Trump as she threw her support “100 per cent” behind Clinton.

Speaking at her gig in Miami on Tuesday night she said: “Don’t vote for him that’s what I’m saying.

“I can’t vote but I am 100 per cent for Hillary Clinton, I love her.”

Democrat candidate Clinton was at the concert and told US radio station SiriusXM that she is a “huge fan” of the Rolling in the Deep singer.

“I went to the Adele concert after our day of campaigning in Florida, and I was stunned and thrilled because I’m a huge fan,” she said.

But Trump, who was criticised for attending the opening of his new Washington hotel on Wednesday, was less than impressed by Clinton’s outing and told ABC News: “Nobody complains when she goes to an Adele concert all night long.”

A host of celebrities have voiced their support for Clinton ahead of the election on November 8.

Katy Perry and Madonna stripped naked to pledge their support while US director Joss Whedon promised Mark Ruffalo will go full frontal naked in his next film.

Justin Timberlake nearly landed himself in hot water after he encouraged members of the public to vote by posting a picture of himself at a polling station in Tennessee.

The Senorita singer shared a picture of himself casting his vote on Instagram – but it has been illegal to take photos inside polling locations in Tennessee since 2015.

The Shelby County District Attorney's Office said on Tuesday that Timberlake’s picture was “under review” after they had been “made aware of a possible violation of election law”.

But in a second statement District Attorney Amy Weirich said the singer will not be investigated.
