It was game, set and match for Big Brother housemates after creating a racket when they passed the Wimbledon "Tense Tennis" task.

They were ordered to get into mixed doubles and play tennis against the BB machine.

At irregular intervals during the task, Big Brother served a ball for the housemates to play in the garden.

Dressed in their tennis clobber, the budding Roger Federers and Amelie Mauresmos had to ensure they returned the serve over the net and within the tramlines to score a point.

Jennie teamed up with Glyn, while the other mixed pairs were Imogen and Mikey, Aisleyne and Pete, Michael and Jayne, Richard and Nikki, and Spiral and Susie.
Glyn and Jennie were first to step up to the back line to take on the tennis machine.

They were losing to Big Brother 40-15, when Glyn got his eye in and managed to turn the game around.

"You're the man, Glyn!" Jennie shouted to her partner as he tapped another one back over the net. "We're gonna do it!" Glyn shouted - and they did, on match point.

A watching Nikki was less enthusiastic. She moaned: "How many f****** games does each person get?"

"Oh God, shall we get the dinner on?" she asked Susie. "This is gonna go on forever and I'm already suicidal!"

The match ebbed and flowed and the scores were tied 5-5 when Nikki and Richard edged to victory, leaving Susie and Spiral with the chance to win the contest by a clear two-game margin.

The housemates surrounded the court and watched the game in silence with their arms around each other as their fellow housemates clinched the tie.

Their reward was a trophy and a Big Brother Tennis Champions Party where they devoured strawberries and cream, and sipped champagne.
