'I hope we find truly inspiring people': Katie Piper launches UK's first diversity catwalk

Katie Piper is calling on members of the public to star in the UK’s first ever catwalk featuring models with visible differences at the Ideal Home Show.

Named ‘Confidence-The Secret’, the catwalk will star representatives from the Katie Piper Foundation and Models of Diversity - who will showcase their true insecurities and talk about their personal journeys – as well as two members of the public.

Piper, 31, who was left scarred after she became the victim of an acid attack in 2008, said: "I am honoured to launch the UK’s first diversity catwalk at the Ideal Home Show and proud to showcase the brave and dedicated models taking part.

“I hope we find some truly inspiring people to join myself and my friends from the Katie Piper Foundation to take part in this every exciting event!”

Models will work the runway in high street fashion as well as bespoke outfits to highlight their insecurities.

Piper will be hosting the unique catwalk for three days during the shows 18-day residency at Kensington Olympia this month.
