‘I was completely out of line’: Keith Richards apologises for saying Mick Jagger needs a vasectomy

Keith Richards has apologised for saying that bandmate Mick Jagger needs a vasectomy, admitting that he was “completely out of line.”

The legendary guitarist called the father of eight and Rolling Stones frontman a “randy old ba*****" after he welcomed a new baby at the age of 74.

Jagger became a father for the eighth time in 2016 when ballerina Melanie Hamrick gave birth to son, Deveraux.

Speaking about the news Richards said: “It’s time for the snip — you can’t be a father at that age. Those poor kids!”

Following a backlash, he has now retracted the comments, saying: “I deeply regret the comments I made about Mick.”

He admitted he was “completely out of line” and added: “I have of course apologised to him in person.”

The news comes days after The Rolling Stones announced their first UK tour in 13 years.

Jagger and Richards have become renowned for their love-hate relationship throughout the years.

Speaking in a Wall Street Journal interview Richards said: “Mick and I live off of this fire between us.

“If I’m talking about the Rolling Stones, there ain’t a frontman like Jagger. Don’t matter how many bones you want to pick out of him, he’s amazing to work with.”
