Iain Stirling has revealed he lost nearly two stone since the UK went into lockdown back in March.

The Love Island narrator, 32, revealed his weight loss is due to not being able to go to the pub regularly.

Speaking on Vicky Pattison’s The Secret To… podcast, Stirling revealed: “I have lost one stone and 9lbs. I was 15st 9 last time I weighed myself, which was a while ago when I was on tour.

"Now I am 14 stone dead."

Laughing about how lockdown prevented access to his local boozer, Stirling continued: “It’s because I’ve not got access to draft lager. I can’t go to a pub.

“I’ve built one in my garden now but I didn’t have any pubs I could go to.”

Stirling, who has been dating fellow Love Island presenter Laura Whitmore since 2018, added the ongoing lockdown – which was instigated to help prevent the spread of coronavirus – educated him on how unfit he was beforehand.

“I have not done anything healthy. It just shows you how dangerously unhealthy my lifestyle was before I went into lockdown,” he continued.

“Laura’s general health levels have gone down and mine have gone up. She was quite healthy before lockdown and I was really bad.”

Explaining the easy access to junk food while on tour, Stirling added: “Especially with gigging you go to places where there is just beer available. I would always have a couple and you are on the road so it’s take away food and service stations.

“So being at home I have cooked more. For Soccer Aid I started to do a bit of training but not anything mad.”

Stirling may have found extra time on his hands when the summer edition of Love Island was cancelled due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

The winter edition of the reality series, which was due to launch in early 2021, has also been axed.
