Big Shaq, Troye Sivan, The Vamps, George Ezra and Pixie Lott were all among artists highlighting the “global” success of the London music scene and its artists at this year’s Brit Awards.

Stars walking the red carpet ahead of the glitzy ceremony celebrated the growth of London’s music scene and it's worldwide dominance this year,

Big Shaq, real name Michael Dapaah, who has accumulated over 220 million views on his breakout track Man’s Not Hot said: “The sound is being accepted globally which is amazing, I’ve had the opportunity to travel to loads of difference places and to hear music that’s from the UK being played all over the world is crazy.”

Won’t Forget You singer Pixie Lott said: “The London music scene will always be great, it has been for years and years. It’s going global more than ever really.”

Singer-songwriter Jessie Ware, who has recently released her album Glasshouse revealed that she has been shaped by the music around London.

She said: “It’s where I learnt about music and going out so it’s shaped me as an artist.”

The Vamp’s Bradley Simpson enthused over the star-studded line-up who attended the ceremony.

The 22-year-old said: “Tonight’s a showcase, that’s why it’s such a good night because there’s so many good British artists out and it’s a very tight competition.”

Mabel McVey, who was nominated for this year’s Critics’ Choice prize said: “The UK hip-hop and R&B scene now is something that in ten years we’ll look back at and be like ‘remember that time’ and it’s just so exciting to be a part of it.

“I feel like the collaborating between artists is so strong in the UK right now too.”

Australian singer and YouTube personality Troye Sivan said: “I’ve always known that the Brits made arguably some of the best music in the world.”

Speaking to the Standard Online Paradise musician George Ezra highlighted: “It feels like there’s a lot going on, it feels like there’s a lot of bands coming through, it feels like there’s a lot of cool pop stars that are coming out of England which I love.”

Whilst alternative-pop band London Grammar celebrated the boundaries that are being “pushed” by the British music scene as a whole.

Lead vocals, Hannah Reid said: “Music from the UK in general is just pushing boundaries now in a way that it never has really before and it’s amazing to feel like we can be a part of that.”

Mama DJ, Jonas Blue, declared that the UK music scene is “always a few steps forward.”
