Pop star Jamelia has claimed a police officer racially abused her in front of her two daughters.

The singer and Loose Women presenter claims a man in uniform shouted a tirade of abuse at her after she overtook him in her car on the way to the train station near her home.

In a post on social media she writes that he shouted: “Oh f*** off you stupid black b****, you lot are sickening’”.

She claims he follows her to the station and “opened his car door in a rage” as she tried to apologise for overtaking.

“Scared, I grabbed my girls and more or less ran toward the station,” she wrote.

Jamelia was with her daughters Tiani, 15, and Teja, 10, in the village of Barnt Green in the West Midlands at 7.30am on Monday when the alleged incident happened.

Jamelia, who also took part in Strictly Come Dancing, claims the man who hurled the abuse was a uniformed police officer and she reported the incident to the West Mercia force.

Inspector Sarah Corteen said: “We do not tolerate racism, whether it’s a serving police officer or not and we will ensure that the appropriate action is taken and the victim is kept updated.
