Great news for theatre fans — James Corden plans to be back on the London stage in two years.

Critics heaped praise on the 34-year-old actor for his performance as Francis Henshall in One Man Two Guvnors, which is still running at the Theatre Royal Haymarket.

Corden has since been courted by Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein and is shooting a movie based on the life of Britain’s Got Talent star Paul Potts, produced by The Weinstein Company. Next comes BBC comedy drama The Wrong Mans, which he has co-written with Mathew Baynton.

Corden said he wanted to be back on stage within two and a half years, adding: “What the experience of One Man Two Guvnors taught me was acting in its purest. They say television will make you rich, film will make you famous and theatre will make you good. I’m more focused and more interested in being good.

“I’m doing this movie with Harvey right now, and then I might be going to America to make a film out there, but I just have to concentrate on finishing this film and then concentrate on The Wrong Mans. I just feel very lucky that I’m able to do so many things.”
