Jason Statham has broken his silence in the wake of allegations he made homophobic slurs on a film set.

The actor, 50, has been accused of making “highly offensive” comments during a heated row with producing partner Steve Casman on the set of Wild Card in 2015.

According to The Blast, Statham repeatedly used the term “f****** f****.” The publication reports that a man who was a consultant on the film claims to have a recording of the alleged incident.

Statham claims he has “no recollection” of making the slurs, but said he apologises if he did.

In a statement on Facebook he said: “Someone approached me claiming to have a tape of me using terms offensive to the LGBTQ community during a conversation I had with my producing partner, on a movie set five years ago.

“I have never heard the recording and my multiple requests to hear the recording have been refused. I have no recollection of making any of these offensive comments.

He continued: “However, let me be clear, the terms referenced are highly offensive. If I said these words, it was wrong and I deeply apologise.

“Anyone who knows me knows it doesn't reflect how I feel about the LGBTQ community. While I cannot fix what was said in the past, I can learn from it and do better in the future.”

Statham co-produced and starred in Wild Card alongside Sofia Vergara and Stanley Tucci.

The British-born star is engaged to model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. The couple gave birth to their first child, son Jack, in June 2017.
