Jennifer Lopez has broken her silence on her engagement to beau Alex Rodriguez, admitting she is “really happy”.

The 49-year-old, who was surprised with a stunning proposal from the baseball player during a trip to the Bahamas, told how she feels the pair are “stronger together”.

Speaking to People about the romance, Lopez explained: “We’re really happy. We're constantly supporting each other in our individual endeavours and thinking about all the things that we can build together.”

Rodriguez added: “We have appreciation for where we are in our lives today, and that's what we're enjoying the most.”

The pair, who recently entered a brand partnership together for Quay Australia, said that they do “everything together”.

Rodriguez said: “'Everything that we do, we do together. He knows my dreams and I know his dreams, and together we feel like we're stronger.”

In a series of inflammatory tweets he branded Rodriguez a “piece of s***” and claimed Lopez has “no idea who [Rodriguez] really is”.

Jessica later slammed the allegations, insisting she has been nothing more than friends with the baseball player for years. Lopez and Rodriguez are yet to respond to the claims.

The couple started dating in 2017, and the singer recently marked their second anniversary with a social media tribute to her partner, telling followers that they had shared “two years of laughter, two years of fun, two years of adventures.”

Lopez was previously married to fellow musician Marc Anthony from 2004 to 2014, to dancer Cris Judd from 2001 to 2003 and to Ojani Noa from 1997 to 1998.
