Jess Glynne has branded criticism of the sound quality on the Spice Girls reunion tour as “a load of rubbish.”

The girl group’s gigs in Dublin and Cardiff were met with reports of “sound issues,” with some fans complaining about “shocking” audio issues that left the band’s 90s hits “muffled and echoing.”

The alleged problems appeared to have been resolved in time for last night’s Manchester concert, with audience members describing the show as “amazing” and “brilliant” with “definitely no sound issues” on Twitter.

Glynne, who is the band’s support act for the reunion dates, addressed the reports in an interview with BBC Breakfast earlier today.

“I honestly think it’s a load of rubbish. I wouldn’t just say it, the show is amazing,” she said.

“I walked out to watch the show on the first night and it’s so emotional. I think people always try and find something.”

The 29-year-old added that although she was able to watch the show last night, she “didn’t get to watch it in Cardiff” and “[doesn’t] know what happened there.”

She also revealed that she finally had the time to “hang with” Melanie Brown, Melanie Chisholm, Geri Horner and Emma Bunton in Manchester, as the size of the concert venues means that the musicians are often “dotted about.”

Last night’s show saw the band poking fun at the supposed sound problems, with one Twitter user revealing that Horner asked the audience: “Can you hear all right at the back?”

Brown addressed the issues last week in an Instagram Story video posted shortly after the band's Croke Park gig, telling fans: "We will see you in Cardiff and hopefully the vocals and the sound will be much, much better."

The Spice Girls will continue their stadium tour with dates in Sunderland, Coventry, Bristol and Edinburgh before finishing with a three night residency at London’s Wembley Stadium.
