Cathriona White: Jim Carrey 'shocked and deeply saddened' after ex-girlfriend dies in apparent suicide
Jim Carrey’s ex-girlfriend has died in an apparent suicide, according to reports.
US site TMZ reported that Cathriona White, 28, was found dead at her Los Angeles home on Monday night by two friends.
The news comes just five days after she broke up with the 53-year-old actor.
The Irish make-up artist posted a “signing off” tweet on September 24 – the day she is believed to have split from Carrey.
It read: "Signing off Twitter, I hope I have been a light to my nearest and dearest."

It is believed that she died of a drug overdose after she was found with pills next to her bed.
Reports say she left a suicide note addressed to Carrey with “references to their break up on Thursday”.
Carrey paid tribute to his "sweet Cathriona" on Tuesday.
In a statement he said: "I am shocked and deeply saddened by the passing of my sweet Cathriona. She was a truly kind and delicate Irish flower, too sensitive for this soil, to whom loving and being loved was all that sparkled. My heart goes out to her family and friends and to everyone who loved and cared about her. We have all been hit with a lightning bolt."
Carrey and White met in 2012, and dated for a few months before splitting. They got back together in May and were pictured strolling hand-in-hand through New York.
