Kanye West could be edging closer to his dream of collaborating with IKEA.

The US rapper, 39, wants to design furniture for student accommodation.

"I have to work with Ikea - make furniture for interior design, for architecture," he told Annie Mac.

Speaking as a student he said: "Yo IKEA, allow Kanye to create, allow him to make this thing because you know what, I want a bed that he makes, I want a chair that he makes—I want more products from Ye."

After hearing his pleas, the Facebook page for IKEA Australia mocked up a possible collaboration with West alongside the caption: “Hej Kanye, we’d love to see what you’d create…we could make you Famous!”

West – who has collaborated with Adidas on a line of trainers and clothing – visited IKEA's head office in Almhult, Sweden, earlier this year.

The Life of Pablo rapper said he was “super inspired” by the visit and told his followers that his “mind is racing with the possibilities”.

In April he showcased his furniture designs in a series of sketches on Twitter when he was “trying to figure out the bed design for the master bedroom at our Hidden Hills compound”.

West has been embroiled in a public feud with Taylor Swift of late over his single, Famous.

Swift took aim at the lyric, “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex/ I made that b**** famous,” and denied West’s claim that he had sought permission to use the lyric.

Kim Kardashian hit back and posted a Snapchat video which appeared to show Swift approving the line during a phone call with West.

The rapper later thanked his wife and Snapchat for allowing his fans to “know the truth”.
