Actress Katherine Kelly has revealed that she gave birth to her second child last year.

The former Coronation Street actress and her husband Ryan Clark welcomed baby daughter Rose three months ago on October 21.

Speaking to Hello! Magazine, the 37-year-old admitted that she didn’t ‘go out of her way’ to keep the new arrival a secret but decided not to publically announce the birth.

“It was a rush to get to the hospital and by the time we were checked in, Rose was born within 1hr and 40 mins,” she said.

“We didn’t go out of our way to keep it a secret but we didn’t announce the pregnancy so people were not immediately on bump watch.

“It’s been wonderful to have this precious time just for us.”

The actress, who stars in Doctor Who spin-off Class, said that she’d have struggled to keep it a secret if she’d still been in Corrie.

“It is different if you are in something like Corrie, as you can’t keep it quiet. It leaks within a second as paparazzi are always at the gates,” she added.

The couple, who married in Las Vegas back in 2013, are already parents to two-year-old daughter Orla.

Kelly went to say that she was keen to spend as much time with her children as possible in the coming months, despite ‘loving’ her job.

“I love my job but I do want to spend as much time as I can with Orla and Rose. To have two healthy children is a blessing,” she said.
