Reality TV star Kim Kardashian has revealed that she and her family have been attending group therapy following Caitlyn Jenner’s gender transition.

Kardashian, 34, made the announcement during her speech at the Commonwealth Club of California.

Wearing a black dress and Manolo Blahnik shoes, the KUWTK star opened up about her step-father and said that she hopes people will not be judgemental.

"The response has been overwhelmingly so positive," she said. "I hope people understand it, or have compassion. I hope people are non-judgemental."

The mother-of-one – who returned to America just days ago after watching her husband Kanye West perform at Glastonbury Festival – said that she is so "happy" at how open people have been to Jenner's change.

"People have been so amazing and Caitlyn appreciates that so much," she said. "We showed everyone in the show because everyone has a different emotional transition of their own to accept this. Sometimes I think it's about Caitlyn, but it's the family around.

"We go to group therapy together. Caitlyn has taught me to be less judgemental. I'm just so happy that people have been so open to this change."

Hosted by Judge LaDoris Cordell, Kardashian was also pressed on issues including her new selfie book Selfish and the objectification of women in media.

Tickets for the event started at $40 and went upwards to $300 for fans wishing to splash out on a VIP Party Package, which included a signed copy of her Selfish book and a cocktail reception.
