Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson plan festive break in France

Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson have sparked speculation they are rekindling their relationship by planning a romantic trip to France over the festive period.

They are rumoured to be meeting up in Paris on Boxing Day after spending Christmas Day with their families.

The former Twilight Saga co-stars will see in the New Year in France too as Kristen has reportedly rented out a farm cottage in a small town in a bid to spend some alone time with the 27-year-old star.

A source told The Sun: "Kristen intends to let Rob spend Christmas with his family in London but she's hoping they will travel to Paris on Boxing Day and from there on to the Loire Valley.

"She reckons it could be the relaxing break they need to completely get things back on track."

The 23-year-old actress is keen spend time with the actor - who was recently romantically linked with Dylan Penn - and the trip to France seems to be a compromise as she had previously asked him to spend Christmas Day with her.

A source said recently: "He's supposed to go home to London for Christmas, but Kristen wants him to stay with her in LA. He's torn."

Robert and Kristen ended their four-year relationship in May after they struggled to get past the actress's "momentary indiscretion" with her Snow White and the Huntsman director Rupert Sanders in July 2012.
