Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department are to request that Justin Bieber is prosecuted for the £20,000 damages he caused after throwing eggs at a neighbour’s property last month.

After passing the case onto the LA Districts Attorney, the Sheriff’s Department strongly recommended that the Girlfriend singer is punished for his actions.

Lt. Dave Thompson told gossip website TMZ.com: "I went to the D.A.'s office today with the paperwork, and I want a felony. Of course I want a felony."

After being caught by police, Bieber’s actions were initially filed as misdemeanours, however, there is now a real possibility that the charge could be upgraded to a felony due to the amount of damages Bieber’s actions caused.

A decision is expected to be made next week.

As a result of the subsequent police raid on Bieber’s house, the Baby singer saw his friend Lil Za charged with felony possession of ecstasy and oxycodone, which, if convicted, could see him face up to nine years in jail.

This is yet another mark on the growing list of misdemeanours carried out by Bieber. After appearing in a court in Miami last week for DUI offences, he has also recently been charged for the assault of a limousine driver in Toronto last year.
