Lady Gaga breaks silence on Taylor Kinney split: We’re soulmates

Lady Gaga has broken her silence after splitting from "soulmate" Taylor Kinney, insisting the pair are taking a break.

The Poker Face singer – real name Stefani Germanotta – said hectic work schedules were to blame for their split and encouraged fans to ‘root them on’.

Gaga acknowledged their break on Instagram where she posted a black and white image of the pair.

She captioned the shot: “Taylor and I have always believed we are soulmates. Just like all couples we have ups and downs, and we have been taking a break.

“We are both ambitious artists, hoping to work through long-distance and complicated schedules to continue the simple love we have always shared.”

She finished: “Please root us on. We're just like everybody else and we really love each other.”

The couple met on the set of Gaga’s music video for You and I in 2011 and Kinney proposed on Valentine’s Day last year.

Gaga sparked speculation when she was spotted without her engagement ring in Malibu last week.

Speaking in 2014 she described Kinney as the "right guy".

"I really can't imagine being with anyone other than who I'm with right now," she told Howard Stern on SiriusXM. "He is the right guy. I have that feeling. I just know it."

Kinney has yet to address their split.
