Lee Ryan has confessed his love for Strictly Come Dancing partner Nadiya Bychkova in a gushing Instagram post during training.

The Blue frontman was paired with Bychkova during the glitzy launch show three weeks ago, taking their first steps on the dance floor last weekend with a Waltz.

Their routine to Take It To The Limit by The Eagles scored 22, with judge Darcey Bussell telling the pair that she found the dance “lustful” while Shirley Ballas commented on their “chemistry”.

And Ryan has taken some time out from their Jive training to prove that their onscreen partnership is a firm friendship off-screen, declaring his “love” for his partner.

Alongside a picture of the pair, Ryan wrote: “Love this girl to bits! She pushes me to places I never thought I could go physically and mentally.

“Even when I don’t think I have anything left she makes me feel like I can keep going to get better and better!

“@nadiyabychkova your a Russian spy with special powers like black widow I swear it!!! thanks for being amazing xxx .”

Earlier this week, Ryan opened up about his debut in the competition to Zoe Ball on It Takes Two.

Appearing on the spin-off show, he said: “I was genuinely so scared, I didn't have time to be cheeky and fun.

“It's a romantic dance as well. When we danced with each other, we really felt the music and we felt that the dance was so passionate so it deserved to be respected in that way.

"I didn’t want to mess around.”

Strictly Come Dancing continues Saturday at 6.30pm on BBC One.
