Little Mix were slammed by viewers over their raunchy X Factor outfits – and sparked a feud with US girl group G.R.L.

The four piece – who found fame on the ITV show in 2011 – took to the stage to perform their new single Shout Out to My Ex.

Jesy Nelson, Perrie Edwards, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Jade Thirlwall performed in pink and black latex body suits which they teamed with black over the knee boots.

Some viewers compared them to “strippers” while others encouraged them to cover up.

One viewer tweeted: "Were Little Mix running late, because they seem to have come out wearing just their underwear? It's not a case of less is more! #XFactor (sic)."

Another commented: "I love little mix but what they're wearing ain't appropriate for a family show."

The girls also faced criticism from fellow girl group G.R.L after fans claimed they noticed similarities between Little Mix's new song and G.R.L's 2014 single Ugly Heart.

G.R.L hijacked the hashtag #ShoutOutToMyEx during Sunday night's show and encouraged fans to tweet #ShoutOutToUglyHeart as people compared the choruses.

One user tweeted: "How is it ok that Little Mix just took the entire chorus of G.R.L.'s Ugly Heart for Shout Out to My Ex and said it's their own?"

Another posted: "I can't believe little mix ripped off GRL like that omfg #shoutouttouglyheart."

Others defended Little Mix with one tweeting: "Music inspires music. Art inspires art. Stop saying LM plagiarized, it's not the same, similar yes #ShoutOutToUglyHeart #ShoutOutToMyEx (sic)."

Standard Online has contacted a representative for Little Mix for comment.

The X Factor is on ITV on Saturday at 8pm.
