London Grime star Stormzy falls victim to BBC Three David Attenborough April Fools' Day joke
London rapper Stormzy fell victim to an April Fools' joke made by BBC Three, which suggested Sir David Attenborough would be presenting a new Grime documentary.
On Saturday the BBC Three account tweeted what appeared to be a promo for David Attenborough: A Life Of Grime.
The tweet came complete with a mocked up cover of the legendary broadcaster with various industry stars and read: "Brand new and exclusive to BBC Three."
Alerted to the post by a fan, Stormzy said the channel “had been doing some dumb s***” and sent them a long DM “just slewing them”.
However he soon realised his error.
The 23-year-old posted “Ahh I all sent @bbcthree some long DM just slewing them. public apology guys sorry.”
He told the fan: “Sis, it's April fools, we've been punked. Fuming”.
In a series of follow up tweets, he said: “F*** April fools man there's no time it's too confusing what is the truth” and added: “Fam I'm coming off the internet.”
