Lord Sugar called on for ‘crack’ at Prime Minister after Donald Trump wins Presidential election

People are calling on Lord Sugar to run for Prime Minister after fellow business tycoon Donald Trump became the next President of the United States.

Trump beat Democrat rival Hillary Clinton in the race for the White House after defying the odds when voters went to the polls on Tuesday.

Fans of Sugar, 69, said he “may as well have a crack” at Theresa May’s job after Trump proved that you don’t need years of political experience to make it in politics.

One Twitter user said they couldn't wait for him to become Prime Minister while another said he would do a "wicked" job.

Much to the disappointment of his fans, the Apprentice star appeared to shoot down the pleas on Twitter.

In response to a tweet that has since been deleted he wrote: "Don't worry no chance."

Another user told Piers Morgan to watch his back if Sugar set his sights on 10 Downing Street, to which the businessman replied: "That's the difference with the UK you can't just put yourself forward as you can in the USA."

Sugar praised Trump’s campaign following the news and hailed it the “best PR event ever”.

Writing on Twitter, he said: “Wow the @realDonaldTrump did it .Unbelievable, he worked the media and targeted the dispondant voter. It’s going to be an interesting 4 years.

“Classic example of a great showman at work best PR event ever @realDonaldTrump president. Now he has to implement all the promises he made.”
