Louise Redknapp has revealed that she’s relaunching her pop career with her first live gig in 15 years.

The former Eternal band member has been in the studio ‘reworking’ some of her classic 1990s tracks and will perform a comeback concert in December.

Announcing the news on Wednesday, Redknapp wrote on Twitter: “I’m so excited to announce that I’ll be playing my first live show in over 15 years (!) on the 22nd of December at Under the Bridge in London.

“To celebrate this and to get you all in the mood, over the coming weeks I’ll also be releasing a series of acoustic videos that we filmed last month at the renowned Metropolis Studios.

“Expect to hear some of the classic hits as well as some covers of songs that are really dear to me.”

Redknapp went on to reveal that the first re-release would be single 2 Faced from her third album, Elbow Beach.

“I went into the studio to rework some of my original tracks. I can’t wait to be back on stage performing all of the hits and my favourite covers,” she told The Sun.

Redknapp rose to fame as part of Eternal in the 1990s but quit the band in 1995 to pursue a solo career.

She released the platinum-selling Naked in 1996, followed by Woman in Me in 1997 and then Elbow Beach in 2000.

The pop star is also set to tread the boards in a new production of Cabaret opposite Will Young later this month.

The singer and husband Jamie Redknapp have been plagued by split rumours for the last few months, with reports suggesting that they are in the process of filing for a ‘quickie’ divorce.
