Madonna’s coronavirus content continues, as the pop star gives her debut album cover a relevant edit to reflect the current times.

Madonna, 61, has shared the cover of her first album on Instagram but in this edited version, the singer is wearing a face mask.

The cover is taken from the re-released version of Madonna’s debut, titled Madonna: The First Album in 1985.

The original self-titled record was released in 1983.

“Nothing Compares to the first time,” Madonna wrote next to the photo on Instagram. “First Album cover ever! #staysafe.

Another Instagram user, @izzagar_graphic, has shared a range of Madonna’s album covers with masks edited on, including her iconic Like a Virgin cover.

The update marks a return to regular posting for the star, who has perplexed fans with her lockdown content.

In March, the singer faced a backlash after sharing a clip of herself in a bathtub filled with rose petals, with harp music playing in the background.

"That's the thing about Covid-19, it doesn't care about how rich you are, how famous you are, how funny you are, how smart you are, where you live, how old you are, what amazing stories you can tell,” she said.

"It's the great equalizer and what's terrible about it is what's great about it.”

Fans criticised her for the post, with one writing: “If the ship is going down, do you really think we’re going down together while you’re in your bathtub having people working for you to be there?

"I love you, my queen. But things outside your mansion are very different from what you think. Stay safe and a be a little more empathic to the less privileged ones."
