Emma Stone joined fellow stars of her new Netflix series Maniac on the red carpet for a night of glitz and glamour at the show’s world premiere in London.

The Oscar-winning actress, 29, stepped out alongside her co-star and friend Justin Theroux, 47, as they posed for photographs at the event on Thursday night.

In Maniac Theroux plays Dr James K Mantleray, an inventor of a sequence of pills he claims can permanently repair mental illness or heartbreak, with no side-effects.

Speaking on the red carpet, the film and TV star said he would like to feature in one of his cousin Louis Theroux’s documentaries.

He is the nephew of Louis’ father, travel writer Paul Theroux, who also attended the bash at the Southbank centre.

The actor said of the family reunion: "Hopefully we're going to hang out later tonight. After the premiere, we'll go to the party together.

"I would give anything to be the subject of one of his documentaries.

"I've been trying to convince him. Maybe he could come and live with me for a month?"

Starring alongside him in the dark comedy are Academy Award winner Stone and Oscar nominee Jonah Hill.

The pair play two strangers who are drawn into the late stages of Mantleray's radical pharmaceutical trial.

Cary Fukunaga, who directed the series which will begin streaming later this month, also attended.
