Martin Kemp’s son Roman ‘in talks’ to host The Xtra Factor

Martin Kemp’s son Roman is reportedly ‘in talks’ to host this year’s series of The Xtra Factor.

While it’s yet to be announced whether or not current presenters Rochelle Humes and Melvin Odoom will return, Kemp has revealed that he’s been speaking to ITV2 about a possible role.

When asked if he was in the running, Kemp, 23, told The Sun: “Yeah. Obviously we have a lot of talks about it. We’ve had a lot of talks in the past year about Xtra Factor so we’ll see.

“For me, that’s the next step.”

He continued: “It’s nice to know these big shows I look up to are watching and thinking about putting me in that show.

“Having companies like ITV ask if you’re interested in doing these types of shows, like Xtra Factor, it’s nice, it’s really nice.”

A show insider added: “Rochelle and Melvin did a great job last year. No decisions have been taken on what’s going to happen this year.”

The 23-year-old son of the former Spandau Baller star is currently a DJ at Capital FM, hosting the 7-9pm weekday show.

X Factor hosts Olly Murs and Caroline Flack recently announced that they wouldn’t be returning this year.
