Members of The Only Way is Essex and Made in Chelsea are allegedly trying to blag their way in to the National Television Awards.

Both reality shows have been snubbed by the awards bash this year, but that hasn’t stopped cast members pestering staff for a ticket.

As a result, security will be given pictures of the “worst offenders” so they can be identified should they show up and attempt to get in on the night.

One insider said: “It has been relentless. Some of them have managed to blag their way into boxes by going via sponsors and brands, but none of them have been given ‘plus ones’ so now, their other halves are desperate to get in.

“Some are even threatening to just turn up. Security will have pictures of the worst offenders pasted on clipboards. If they try to get in without tickets on the night, they will be turned away.”

Made in Chelsea starring Lucy Watson, Oliver Proudlock and Spencer Matthews has won two BAFTAs in the past, but has been snubbed at the NTAs while fellow reality show Geordie Shore has been nominated.

Other nominees include EastEnders, who have scooped three nominations with one going to Danny Dyer for his role as Mick Carter in the popular BBC soap.

Coronation Street - which has won the Serial Drama Performance award for three consecutive years in a row - is only up for the Serial Drama gong.

The National Television Awards will be held at The O2, London on Wednesday 21 January and will be broadcast live on ITV from 7.30pm.
