Meryl Streep and Hugh Grant seemed in good spirits as they arrived at the premiere of Florence Foster Jenkins.

The A-list pair posed for photos together at the Odeon Leicester Square on Tuesday evening for the UK opening of Stephen Frears' new film.

Oscar-winner Streep spent time chatting to fans and signing autographs for the crowds that had gathered outside the cinema.

Famously camera-shy Grant also seemed keen to meet fans and even posed for selfies before heading into the screening.

They were joined at the London premiere by co-stars Simon Helberg and Stanley Tucci as well as Rebecca Ferguson and Sarah Winter.

Frears’ new film is the story of New York heiress Foster Jenkins, who dreamt of becoming an opera singer despite having a poor voice.

While Streep takes on the role of Foster Jenkins, Grant plays St Clair Bayfield, an aristocratic English actor who was determined to shield her from finding out the truth.

Florence Foster Jenkins is in cinemas on May 6.
