Michael B Jordan and Sylvester Stallone could be set to land another knockout after the pair sent fans into an emotional frenzy over the hotly anticipated trailer for Creed 2.

The eighth instalment in the Rocky Balboa universe is set to make its way to screens and fans can’t handle it.

The trailer pulls at the heartstrings with Apollo Creed’s son Adonis out to seek vengeance for his father’s death by taking on the son of Ivan Drago, who killed Apollo in Rocky IV.

After hanging up his gloves, Stallone returns to his role of mentor to Adonis, begging him not to pursue the fight in fear of him dying the same was as his father did in the 1986 film.

Fans of the boxing franchise took to social media to share their feelings.

One user wrote: “I (finally) took the time to watch the #Creed2 trailer and all I can say is HOLY s***.

“It was intense, heart wrenching, beautifully shot and had me on the edge of my seat. I can't wait to see this in theatres. It is indeed time kid.”

Another commented: “@creedmovie looks incredible! @michaelb4jordan and @TheSlyStallone teaming up for what looks like an epic second chapter fuelled by poignant human drama and intense, heart pounding adrenaline!”

A third added: “Excuse me sir but you just broke my heart sir #Creed2 can’t wait for this.”

Meanwhile a fourth commented: “Good lord, when Rocky and Drago stare at each other...I almost gave my dogs heart attacks with my yell. #Creed2 #Rocky.”

The film is set to release on November 21 in the United States, however, an official UK release date is yet to be announced.
