Michael Douglas: Donald Trump is a charming guy
Michael Douglas has described Donald Trump as "charming" - but insisted he will not be voting for him in the US presidential election.
The actor, 71, revealed he has played golf with the Republican candidate who he praised for having a "self-effacing sense of humour".
But despite his fondness for Trump, Douglas said he has always been a Democrat and will vote for Hillary Clinton.
Speaking to Ross King on Good Morning Britain he said: “I know [Trump] personally and he's a charming guy - I play golf with him and he’s got a very good self-effacing sense of humour.
"I don't agree with him politically but I think he's set a tone that's attracted a certain set of our population, I'm just not sure how much it's going to grow before the election.”
He continued: "I'm a Democrat by life, I know the Clintons pretty well, Bill when he was in office and Hillary Clinton. I think she'll be a spectacular President.”
Douglas' comments come weeks after Cher launched a scathing attack on Trump and compared him to Adolf Hitler.
The singer said the world would be the "worst place" if Trump was elected as President and said people cannot comprehend how bad it could get.
Speaking about the businessman she said: "Consummate liar, doesn’t care who he hurts, insane and, you know, sociopathic narcissist. I just wish he’d fall off the face of the earth."
