Mick Jagger donates scholarship to Central Saint Martins in memory of L’Wren Scott

Mick Jagger has donated a three year scholarship programme in memory of L’Wren Scott for the students of MA Fashion at Central Saint Martins

Mick Jagger has donated a three year scholarship to Central Saint Martins in memory of his long term partner L’Wren Scott who died in March 2014, aged 49.

The MA fashion course scholarship will cover fees and a portion of living expenses for one student in each academic year.

In a statement, Central Saint Martins said that the American designer had been impressed by the late Professor Louise Wilson's "commitment to excellence and her dedication to fashion education".

Fabio Piras, course director of MA Fashion, said: "I am very grateful to receive this extremely generous scholarship package, gifted by Mick Jagger in L'Wren Scott's name.

"Our students sacrifice much to take up this course and work extremely hard while they are here. I am very proud of the fact that this course, through its alumni, continues to be recognised as a major contributor to the future of the global fashion industry."

The scholarship program will begin for the academic year starting October 2015.
