Former Strictly contestant Nancy Dell’Olio is keeping her life in the limelight and making her West End debut.
The ex-girlfriend of former England manager Sven-Goran Eriksson appears in Fashion Victim — The Musical at the May Fair Theatre, opening tonight. It is described as a “modern morality tale set in the cutting-edge world of fashion”.
Dell’Olio, pictured, plays Lucretia, a glamorous fashionista, and will star in four shows of the 12-night run.
She said: “I take my sense of style very seriously but I am secure enough with my image to have a little fun with my public persona. This is not biting satire, this is a comic look at fashion, not a cruel hatchet on the fashion world. The spirit is very much Absolutely Fabulous.”
Dell’Olio, 53, who took part in BBC1’s Strictly Come Dancing in 2011, was due to make her London stage debut two years ago in an autobiographical play — In The Powder Room — at the Arts Theatre in Covent Garden. It was cancelled at the last minute.

“I think I have a naturally theatrical personality… Certainly I would consider more stage and TV roles.
“I am already in the public eye and am often interviewed, so this is in some ways an extension of my day-to-day life.”
