The world’s biggest boyband One Direction have secured a new deal.

However, this time it is not with a record company or their own new fashion line - the One Direction boys are to get free cabs for a year.

Britain’s biggest cab firm, Addison Lee, have offered the 1D guys a year-long ‘free ride’ after they were mentioned in the groups hit single Midnight Memories.

The agreement was fixed last weekend, after Louis Tomlinson called on the cab firm to arrange a deal with the boys as a result of the name dropping.

He wrote: "Surely we get some kind of @AddisonLeeCabs gold card for the name drop haha !!?? (sic)"

The private hire company were apparently ecstatic with the free publicity and were keen to do something in honour of their mention.

A source told the Daily Mirror: "Addison Lee were delighted to be mentioned in the song. So they were more than happy to give something in return. Thanks to Louis, they came up with the idea of giving them a year's worth of free cab journeys."

Adding: “They even tried to see how many people you could actually fit in one of their cabs off the back of it.”

One Direction have been frequenters of Addison Lee cabs since their days on the X Factor and still use the company to take them to and from their celeb commitments.

The source told the Mirror: "They actually ended up using the same driver quite often, so they took him to Wembley one week to thank him for ferrying them around.”

The company is also popular with a number of other X Factor alumni as well as a host of other celebrities. As a result of this influx of stars using the cab firm, Addison Lee have investigated a special celebrity service in the future.

"They've been looking at coming up with a celebrity scheme like this for a while, so the boys actually catapulted them into action.
