One Direction’s hiatus may last longer than planned as Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson are not on speaking terms, according to reports.

The band announced their temporary break last summer – but the Daily Star has reported that Styles and Tomlinson are not on good terms and that the band are too busy enjoying their solo ventures to consider reuniting .

A source told the publication: “One Direction are not coming together in a year or even two. The fans have hoped that the group would honour their announcement of returning within 12 months.

“But that is a long way off and the boys are not even on track to mention a comeback. All four are loving their own solo freedom.”

The source added: “To make matters worse, Louis and Harry are not even speaking as tensions run high between them.

“They weren’t talking at the end of the group and things have not eased. It may be a long time before that relationship gets better.”

The comments come months after it was reported that the band had broken indefinitely.

But a source told Standard Online at the time that talk of a permanent split is untrue.

The four piece announced in August that they would be taking a hiatus following the release of their fifth studio album, Made in the AM.

Following the split, Tomlinson has been living in Los Angeles after welcoming his first child, son Freddy earlier this year.

Styles is preparing for his big screen debut after being signed up to star in Christopher Nolan’s WWII film, Dunkirk alongside Tom Hardy.
