Peaches Geldof said she feels Paula Yates is watching over her after she revealed her baby is due on her late mother's birthday.

The 22-year-old said her father, Bob Geldof, was "overwhelmed" when she told him on Boxing Day that she was expecting a baby boy with her fiance Thomas Cohen.

She told Hello! magazine: "Oh my God, he was so happy, especially as I'm having a boy. The poor man's been surrounded by women up till now.

"I knew he would be happy but I didn't realise how over the moon he would be. He's always been very supportive of me but he was really overwhelmed and emotional."

She said Geldof offered the young couple advice, telling them they must get married and "never break up".

Peaches said she was amazed when she was told her son was due on April 24 - the same day her mother, who died of a drugs overdose in 2000, was born.

She said: "It was amazing for me when they told me that, very emotional and touching and just really beautiful. I was so happy.

"I feel like it's a little wink from my mum; her way of sending a message to let me know that she's watching over me and my baby."
