Pierce Brosnan has reunited with his former Mrs Doubtfire co-stars to celebrate the forthcoming 25th anniversary of the iconic 1990s classic.

The former James Bond star, 65, was a sprightly 40-year-old when the film was released back in 1993, but three of his co-stars hadn’t even made it to adulthood.

Mara Wilson, 31, Matthew Lawrence, 38, and Lisa Jakub, 39, played the children of the Hillard family in the raucous Robin Williams-led comedy and are now nearly the same age as Brosnan was when starred as their mother’s new boyfriend.

The foursome met up to celebrate the landmark anniversary of the film’s release on Wednesday, which was filmed for a special segment on the Today Show.

Brosnan shared a snap of the group on his Instagram page, informing followers that former co-star Sally Field was absent as she was currently on a book tour.

“Guess who? Today, after 25 years, I gathered around a table in the company of three beautiful young people, to talk story about a film that has touched the hearts of so many,” he wrote.

“Sally is on tour with her new book. Robin is in heaven making the angels laugh and was spoken of with the fondest of love and sweet memories.”

He also posted a video of himself looking at a throwback snap of the cast at the premiere back in 1993, saying: “'At the premiere of Mrs Doubtfire and here we are, we pull back slowly: Tada!'

“Love you, love you all so much, so good to be a part of your lives ... I want to get into the picture as well.”

The late Robin Williams played the now-iconic role of a father who is forced to dress up as an elderly female nanny in order to spend time with his three children.

Speaking about working with the legendary comedian, Jakub recently said: “Something that Robin taught me that was really, really important is that he was very open with me about his issues with addiction and depression - and I really appreciated that,

“I think he thought that was, you know, a prime time to really be open with me and honest. And I have dealt with depression, and I have anxiety, and the fact that he was that open, that honest, that willing to talk to me about it was something that was really special.”
