Poppy Delevingne is a ‘changed woman’ after a life-changing trip to the Congo with Save The Children.

The British model, 29, has described the experience as ‘truly emotional’ but completely ‘out of her comfort zone'.

Supporting the charity’s No Child Born to Die campaign, Cara Delevingne’s older sister travelled to the country to find out why it is one of the worst places in the world to be a child.

As part of her week in the Congo, Delevingne met with mothers whose children were suffering from preventable diseases such as malaria, malnutrition and pneumonia.

She said: “It’s been an adventure which has taken me completely out of my comfort zone but it’s been incredibly thought provoking.

“I’m going to go back to the UK a changed woman. Meeting mothers and children who so desperately need help has been truly emotional.

She added: “I can’t wait to share some of my experiences when I get home. We need to change the hopeless situation in the beautiful and magical DRC.”

In a bid to raise funds for the campaign, the charity has asked five designers to create an exclusive piece of clothing inspired by a model muse, the profits of which will go to the campaign.

Bella Freud has designed a jumper inspired by friend Kate Moss while Delevingne is the muse for Christopher Kane’s creation.
