Rebecca Humphries is “glad” that pictures were published of her ex-boyfriend Seann Walsh kissing his Strictly Come Dancing partner Katya Jones, as the scandal made her realise she was “not crazy.”

Images of the comedian kissing his dance partner outside a London pub were published in October. Shortly after, Humphries released a statement on Twitter, revealing that she had broken up with Walsh and that the photographs had been taken on the night of her birthday. She also accused him of calling her “psycho/nuts/mental” for believing that “something inappropriate was going on” between the Strictly pair.

Speaking on The Hotbed podcast, Rebecca said: “I’m glad that it happened this way, because otherwise I would never have known that I am not crazy.

“So I’m glad it came out, I know I’m embroiled in this television programme’s history now, I obviously thought it would be because I went on it and won it!

Not bitter: Humphries said she didn't feel "angry or vengeful" about the break-up

“But it’s just my circumstance and I can’t feel bitter about it, I can’t feel angry or vengeful about it, it’s just how it is, really.”

She went on to explain that her Twitter statement was not about the kiss itself, but Walsh’s previous behaviour towards her.

Seann Walsh calls photographers his 'best friends'

“I’m not this puritanical Mary Whitehouse character who thinks that snogging someone when they’re drunk is not OK under any circumstance,” she said. “I’m absolutely not perfect and I’m also an actress and I’ve experienced watching these sorts of things happen in professional environments myself as well, as an observer, I should say, so I know it can happen.

“I know these things happen but I hope that it’s clear that I wasn’t responding to that particular incident; it was the attempt by a person to make me question myself in order to get away with doing whatever they liked.”

Walsh and Jones, who is married to fellow Strictly dancer Neil Jones, apologised on Strictly spin-off show It Takes Two after the photos were published, describing the kiss as “a huge mistake.”
