Rita Ora is reportedly being lined up to star in brand new superhero film The Flash.

The British pop star, who has recently signed a new recording contract, is thought to be in the running for a lead role in the DC Comics project.

In what would be one of her biggest Hollywood roles yet, the 25-year-old has reportedly auditioned opposite actor Ezra Miller, who will play superhero Barry Allen.

Ora, who starred in Fifty Shades of Grey, is up against actresses including Kiersey Clemons and Lucy Boynton for the role of reporter Iris West.

“It hasn't been decided yet but Rita is in with a very good chance. She's a good actress and she's definitely impressed the movie's producers,” a source told the Daily Star.

The Flash is set to be directed by Rick Famuyiwa from a script written by Phil Lord and Chris Miller.

Ora is currently shooting scenes for the third Fifty Shades film as Mia Grey, which has been her most high-profile acting job to date.

She also had a small role in Southpaw and in Fast & Furious 6, while she played herself on an episode of Empire last year.

The singer, who only has one album to her name, is expected to get back into the recording studio this year after freeing herself from her contract with Jay Z’s Roc Nation.

A source recently told The Sun: “Rita is overjoyed she can finally start discussions with other labels, which have been waiting on this case to be resolved.

“Once filming wraps on Fifty Shades, she will finalise a new deal and start work on recording her new album.”
