Robbie Williams and wife Ayda Field have shared a snap of themselves dressed up as 90's pop duo Pet Shop Boys for a fancy dress party.

Wearing matching white overalls, white sunglasses and pointed cone hats, the couple stood hand-in-hand as they recreated the famous Can You Forgive Her video from 1993.

Clearly keen to show off his valiant costume effort to the world, the pop star posted it to his Twitter account, only to be met with mixed reactions.

While some fans were rather impressed by his attempt at recreating the famous look, others were a little miffed as to why the jumpsuits were white instead of orange.

Williams responded to one friend by writing: “P*** off @goodboyspencer, you try finding two orange jumpsuits on Bank Holiday Monday.”

The Rock DJ star isn’t the only singer who’s been channelling pop icons from their youth, as Adele decided to dress as her favourite musician earlier this week to celebrate her birthday.

Wearing a full-on beard, wig, leather jacket and aviator sunglass, the superstar embraced her inner George Michael.

Tweeting out the finished look to all her followers, Adele wrote: “Thank you for the birthday wishes I had a wonderful time! I was my hero x #gottahavefaith.”

The man himself got in contact to congratulate her on her effort, writing: “Happy Birthday @OfficialAdele !!! I'm so flattered, love The Singing Greek! xxx
