The Twilight stars put the icing on the publicity cake last night by appearing together at a press conference in LA - just ahead of the release of Breaking Dawn Part 2.

It's been all break-up and make-up recently, but Robert Pattinson said it was love at first sight when he met Kristen Stewart.

Speaking at a Los Angeles press conference yesterday ahead of the release of the final Twilight film later this month, the dreamboat of the series said he was "starstruck’"when he first met his future girlfriend.

The couple, who recently got back together after the 22-year-old actress had a fling with director Rupert Sanders in August, first met at a casting for the Twilight Saga in 2008.

The 26-year-old said he was also "starstruck" when he met his Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire co-stars: "I remember looking at Dan [Radcliffe,] Rupert [Grint,] and Emma [Watson] and being like 'Wow, those guys are actors.' I wanted to be one too."

But the actor behind Edward Cullen wasn't at all "struck" by co-star Taylor Lautner, who plays Jacob Black, after he was informed the 20-year-old couldn't remember the first time he met him, according to HollywoodLife.com.

Pattinson said: "Gee I don't remember meeting him either. I met him when he was wearing his wig and stuff."
