'Ron Burgundy' confirms Anchorman sequel

Will Ferrell last night announced there will be a sequel to his popular movie Anchorman.

The actor, who plays 1970s San Diego newsreader Ron Burgundy, made a surprise appearance on US TV chat show Conan to make his announcement.

The original movie, Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy, was released in 2004 and grossed over $90million. Steve Carell and Paul Rudd are also expected to reprise their roles alongside Ferrell.
